Where these jobs are advertised

PetroJobs no longer exists. Oman's oil and gas operators now advertise through Kwader at kwader.mem.gov.om, run by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. Kwader states that you will be redirected to the operator's website and that the rest of the application process is completed there.

Read this before you apply

The board is thin. When this listing was last checked, Kwader carried three adverts in total across the whole sector, and Petroleum Development Oman had none of them. Check the live portal yourself rather than trusting any site that claims to list dozens of current PDO vacancies.

Omanisation

PDO reported a record Omanisation rate of 92 per cent in its 2025 Sustainability Report, with 8,564 Omani and 701 non-Omani employees in a workforce of 9,265. Many roles, and most graduate programmes, are restricted to Omani nationals. Check the nationality requirement on every advert.

Pay

No Oman operator publishes a salary on Kwader, and PDO publishes none anywhere. Any "PDO engineer salary" range you have read came from an aggregator, not from PDO.

Visas and fees

The Royal Oman Police states a work visa is granted at the request and on the responsibility of an employer, and that the occupation on the visa must match the labour permit. Engineers need an additional letter from the labour ministry. Article 31 of Oman's Labour Law prohibits charging any sums from a recruited worker in return for employing him.
