What the work involves

• The skills of the role itself, from customer handling to programming

How the pay works

• BLS medians, May 2025. $44,770 for customer service representatives, $78,760 for marketing specialists and $135,980 for software developers
• Employees and contractors. Employees are owed minimum wage and overtime; independent contractors are not, and pay 15.3% self-employment tax
