The frustrating part of an entry level search is how many listings marked entry level still ask for two years of experience. The sectors that genuinely hire without it are narrower than the search results suggest, and it helps to know which ones they are.
This page collects genuine entry level openings from our listings, with the sectors that really do train from scratch, what they pay, and how to write an application when you have nothing to put under experience.
Retail, hospitality, warehouse and logistics, cleaning, care and customer service are the reliable ones. All train after hiring, all recruit continuously, and all judge applications mainly on availability and reliability rather than background.
Construction labouring and delivery driving belong in the same group, with the caveat that both usually need something small first — a safety card in construction, a clean licence in delivery. Neither takes long to obtain.
In the US, entry level hourly roles commonly run $14 to $20 an hour depending on sector and state, with warehouse and delivery typically at the upper end of that and retail at the lower. Entry level salaried positions commonly start around $40,000 to $50,000.
In the UK, most entry level hourly work sits at or slightly above the National Living Wage, with warehouse, care and night-shift roles paying premiums above it. In Pakistan, entry level office and support roles commonly start around PKR 30,000 to 60,000 a month.
Lead with availability. For hourly roles, a candidate who can work weekends, evenings and the full trading week is shortlisted ahead of one who cannot, and that is entirely within your control.
Everything counts as evidence if you frame it as evidence. Coursework, volunteering, family business help, sport, a side project — what employers want to see is that you finish things and turn up. Say what you did and what came of it, rather than describing yourself with adjectives.
Two patterns are worth recognising. The first is the listing that promises unusually high pay for unskilled work and asks for a fee for training, equipment or a background check — no legitimate employer charges you to start. The second is commission-only sales advertised as a salaried entry level role.
Read the pay structure before applying. If a listing will not state a rate, or states one only as potential earnings, treat that as the main fact about the job.
